Toward the south end of Waterton Lake, the boat crosses the 49th parallel, the border between the United States and Canada. This 1300 mile border is the longest unguarded border in the world. It is kept clear of trees for probably about 50 feet. You can see it stretching over the hills in this picture. There is a little concrete post on each side of the lake marking the border.
