Ta-Ta Creek
Ta-Ta Creek
In 1948, my two friends and I were on our way back south. We planned on having lunch at Fort Steele. The bridge we were to take wasn't there. We continued a mile or so to the Ta-Ta Creek Store for information. The lady told us we had to go over the railroad bridge, that the road to Fort Steele was "all right" and that she had never been beyond Fort Steele. That sixteen miles was the worst road I've ever seen. Fort Steele was a ghost town, nothing to eat!!
Here's Sauny in the Buick LeSabre we rented. It cost us about 11¢ a mile for the trip!!
