Late February is plum time in San Luis Obispo. (1999) There are many all over town. This is a particularly good year. Usually, the bloom is a bit sparse. Note the sparseness high on the left side! I would not recommend planting this tree because of it variability.
If you do, you should buy it in February, when it is in bloom so that you know what you're getting.
