Picture Log
species only, varieties are not included.

Almost all of the pictures are in color.
Early books such as those by Victoria Padilla have a number of b&w pictures.
Black and white pictures have an asterisk following the page number (i.e. 56*).

I should mention that the Florida Council of Bromeliad Societies has an extensive file
of bromeliad pictures. At present I don't have the courage to try to enter them here.
Their URL is  http://www.fcbs.org/.

I believe it is impossible to do a job of this magnitude with NO errors.
I apologize for any that are there, I have tried very hard to make it accurate.

I would appreciate it very much if you would call my attention to any errors you find so that I may correct them.
It would be nice to get an occasional message that you used the page and didn't find any errors!

I believe it is important that you print it out in panorama mode, sideways.

Some of the books have multiple pictures of a given plant.
I tried to pick the one that I thought would be of greatest help in identifying yours.
Often the "prettiest" or most "arty" pictures are not the best for identification.

How to use this table:

   Acanthostachys strobilacea               X   ---   50   47   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---

Using the reference list above, this gives the page of the book where the picture occurs.
For instance, this plant is on my web page, on page 50 of  #3, Blooming Bromeliads,
and page 47 of  #4, Bromeliads.

This has been something I have longed for for a long time. I hope it strikes a chord with you too!

There has to be a number of errors.
Please accept my apology and realize what a monumental job this is.
The error potential is enormous.

Please send me anything that's wrong.
I would like to correct any typos, misspellings, superceded names, misplaced pages or whatever.

E-mail me at charlesdills@mac.com.

Thank you and I will appreciate it.

Dr. Gouda of the Unversity of Utrecht has called my attention to an article in Selbyana, "there is a checklist of Bolivian Bromeliaceae with notes on species, distribution and levels of endemism, Krömer et al. Selbyana 20(2):201-223."
