Bromelia humilis

Bromelia humilis

"This picture demonstrates the stoloniferous habit of the members of the genus Bromelia.
This species, as its name implies, is one of the smaller of the species with a rosette barely reaching 50 cm in diameter. When in bloom, the leaves turn a deep cardinal red color.
The pup in the picture is at the end of a spiny stolon over a meter long.
Bromelias are incredibly armed and never fail to draw blood." Ken Marks
