Everybody knows what a greenhouse looks like. It's a kind of metal tent with a lot of aluminum and fibreglass. Unless of course you're thinking of places like the Palm House at Kew Garden in England. Then you're thinking of an almost fairyland construction in the best Victorian tradition. Lots of pretty gewgaws and curves. Very intimidating. Certainly not something you could have. But then again, if I win the lottery! - - - - - - -

The Palm House at Kew Garden
Cassio van den Berg was at Kew Garden
and kindly took this photo for me and sent it for this page!
Thank you, Cassio.

So, this page will be devoted to the little bitty greenhouses people like us can have. You can do a a lot in a small space. Enclose a volume with something that is transparent, put in some fans and louvers and maybe a heater with some controllers and you too can be a greenhouse guru!!I

I have been sent pictures of people's greenhouses. Surely you are aware that if you send me a picture it stands a good chance of being put on the net for everyone to see. I'm going to go back in my files and find some that I've had on the page before. And I'm going to start with three pictures I got today from Duncan Bee.

As it says on the Statue of Liberty, send me your pictures, your greenhouses and plants, the wonderful things you've done to indulge your hobby and I will put them on the web.

If you send photos by snail mail, I will scan them. If you scan them and then send them to me, scan them at around 150 dpi. Then I will tweak them and reduce them to about 72 dpi for the page.

This is intended to be an inspiration for you to do something with that corner of the yard that does nothing except make you mow it occasionally!

There will be an e-mail reply for your reactions!
