Charles Everard Dills (2)
Charles Everard Dills (2) When I graduated from P-40 school in Sarasota FL, they gave us a 10 day "delay en route" to our next station. My next station was the Port of Embarcation for overseas duty in Miami Beach FL. With the normal 2 day allowance this gave us 12 days, supposedly to go around and say goodbye to everyone. In my case this meant Helen in Kansas City, Uncle Frank in Lisbon ND, Uncle JC in La Moure ND and Irene in Washington DC. This picture was taken in front of Uncle Frank's house in Lisbon ND. This dates it to the beginning of August 1943. Two weeks later, I was in North Africa!
