Charles Henry Dills was born 29 March 1845 in Ellicottville, NY and died on 15 July 1925 in LaMoure ND at the home of his son, John Clinton Dills. He married Jessie Alberta Prescott on 6 September 1873. They had four children, Lillian Adelaide, John Clinton, Daniel Everard and Frank Barlow. He was in the battle of Fort Ridgeley and the Civil War throughout the entire campaign. He was at Vicksburg and then up the Tennessee River. He was discharged at Demopolis, Alabama.
