Pushkin
He was named after the Russian author, of course. Being male he seemed not to have the somewhat obese problem of his "sisters". My older sister, Irene, lived with us for most of these fifteen years. I think she liked the animals better than she did people. She would inspect all three cats every day. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that she counted every hair.
When she fed them she would open a can of cat food. If they didn't gobble it up immediately, she would throw it away and open a can of different food! Needless to say they don't get that kind of treatment now from Sauny and me.
Irene spent 22 months in a Care Center and we brought a cat over every Sunday morning for a couple hours. Occasionally we would forget the right sequence and we would hear about it. She would think we were hiding some dastardly problem with the out-of-order cat! Now that she is gone, the cats have had to learn to live with us.
