Claus Braseth's Sod House in North Dakota
Claus Braseth's Sod House in North Dakota

Tim Braseth supplied the following information

"Claus Braseth proudly shows off his sod hut on the plains of North Dakota, early 1900's.
His first destination after arriving in Ellis Island was his Uncle Bendick's farm in Ulen, Minnesota where he worked until he saved enough money to be on his own.
He settled near Grand Forks where he built this house and met and married Anna Hanson who lived in a neighboring sod hut."

I suspect that they both did not have sod huts near Grand Forks.
I believe they probably had their sod houses far out west in North Dakota, probably Williams County near Williston.
