viviparous (adj.)

Snakes and people are viviparous because they give birth to live young.
Plants are said to viviparous when they give birth to pups along the stem (rachis) or at the terminus of the inflorescence.

This plant is Tillandsia latifolia cv 'Enano' and is about a foot tall. You can see the remains of the spent inflorescence at the base of the new plant!
