Puya prosanae
2005.0511

And here is the culmination of a nomenclature quest.
This plant has been found in collections in many parts of the world with various labels, one of which was Puya flavovirens.
I even have it myself. Derek Butcher ramrodded the effort and managed its favorable conclusion.
We all appreciate your effort, Derek!

I asked Barry Uren for a picture of the violet flower. He said, "I do not have a picture of the flower at this stage.
These plants flowered last year and I went into hospital about the same time---so I didn't actually get a photo of flowers.
However when it next flowers I'll make sure that a new set of photos at all stages are taken and I'll send them on to you.
Regards."
