Aechmea gamosepala

Aechmea gamosepala

Recently I was given a plant from the area of Joinville, State of Santa Catarina and on whose identification I'm not sure. Observe the photos of this northern material. In a first moment I thought it is Aechmea gracilis , but no longer I am much confident about this. Jones, suggests this material from Santa Catarina may also be Aechmea gamosepala, only a variation. Observe the photos 3 and 4, and verify that the plant is smaller, the leaves have purple-red reflections on the margins and apex, the inflorescence is shorter and the flowers are more stacked up and has a more rose color than the southern material. Do you have an idea what this may be ?"
