Tillandsia sueae
Tillandsia sueae
I'm very pleased with this plant. I wish I was able to keep it in the direct sun that it needs to be red!! But it's winter here in California and I took it inside because I was afraid the temperature would abort the blooms!
It turns out that this plant was labelled originally as Tillansia parryi but turns out to be this close relative .
I would like to refer you to the 1991 Journal of the Bromeliad Society article by Renate Ehlers where it is introduced as a new species and compared to T. parryi. [J. Brom. Soc. 41,208(1991)]. It should be noted that it was named for Sue Gardner!
