Deuterocohnia longipetala

Deuterocohnia longipetala

The flowers are the usual yellow tube, slightly flared with blue tips. This plant bloomed from the same stalk ten times in March 1985-1994. After the dead stalk dropped off a new spike appeared almost immediately.
Do not cut the stalk off a Deuterocohnia for at least a year!!

This inflorescence is the first from a pup of the original plant. I expect it to re-bloom from the "dead" stalk every year for perhaps a decade.
