Some time later, on 25 November 1990, we proceeded to remove the existing aluminum roof from the two story addition and replaced it with the 40 year "Presidential" asphalt shingles.
Mid to late in the afternoon we were about 2/3rds done and we
were pooped. We could see a couple of young guys making short work of a roof a block or so away. We
went down to rest. The picture above shows where we were when we paused for a brief rest.
We were standing out front bracing ourself for another onslaught
when a small truck pulled up and two young men got out and told us they saw us roofing from the job
they were doing a block or so away. They wondered if we would like them to finish the job. I, of
course, said, "How much?" They said $125 and I said you have a job. So they got up there and with
their expertise and power equipment made short work of it.
Thank you, young gentlemen!
